Election Results UPDATE: 30 Wins, 6 Races Too Close to Call 
Emerge women lead in majority of close races

PORTLAND, OR — Today, as late ballots across Oregon continue to be counted, 30 alumnae of Emerge Oregon have been declared the winner in seats at the Statewide, Congressional, County, and City level, and in both chambers of the State Legislature.

Emerge women are leading or within striking distance in extremely competitive races for State House, Congress, Mayor, City Council, and County Commission that are STILL too close to call.

Based on available results:

NEW RACE CALLS:

  • Steph Newton has defeated a 50-year incumbent to win the race for Albany City Council, becoming the first Jewish woman elected to the council in Albany’s 158-year history
  • Andrea Salinas has won the race for Oregon’s NEW 6th Congressional District, flipping Oregon’s delegation to majority women
  • Jamie Mcleod-Skinner conceded the hard-fought race for Congressional District 5
  • Sonya Fischer conceded the highly competitive race for Clackamas County Commissioner

TOO CLOSE TO CALL: 7:30 PM November 14 Update 

  • Milwaukie Mayor: Kathy Hyzy continues to close the gap in the Milwaukie Mayor’s race, down just 42 votes: Hyzy trails 4,474 to 4,432
  • House District 53 (Bend and Redmond): Emerson Levy is holding on to a razor thin lead 18,242 votes to 17,964 — Deschutes County will update Wednesday, Nov. 16
  • House District 48 (East Portland, Clackamas, Damascus): Hoa Nguyen is holding on to a narrow lead, 11,972 votes to 11,299
  • House District 40 (Gladstone, Oregon City): Annessa Hartman CONTINUES to hold a narrow lead,  15,692 votes to 15,531
  • Deschutes County Commission: Pastor Morgan Schmidt trails 39,672 votes to 37,713 — Deschutes County will update Wednesday, Nov. 16
  • House District 52 (The Dalles, Hood River, East Multnomah and Clackamas): Darcy Long trails 14,892 votes to 16,504

STATEWIDE 

  • Christina Stephenson has been elected to the statewide office of BOLI Commissioner

CONGRESS

  • Val Hoyle has been elected to Congressional District 4

COUNTY

  • Catherine McMullen has defeated a 20-year incumbent to win the race for Clackamas County Clerk
  • Jessica Vega Pederson has won the race for Multnomah County Chair

JUDGE

  • Jacqueline Alarcon has won re-election to the Multnomah County Circuit Court

MAYORS

  • Melanie Kebler has won the race for Mayor of Bend
  • Heidi Lueb has won the race for Mayor of Tigard
  • Jaimie Fender has been re-elected as Mayor of King City

STATE HOUSE

  • House Majority Leader Julie Fahey has been re-elected to House District 14
  • Rep. Andrea Valderrama has been re-elected to House District 47
  • Rep. Dacia Grayber has been re-elected to House District 28
  • Rep. Lisa Reynolds, MD  has been re-elected to House District 34
  • Rep. Maxine Dexter, MD has been re-elected to House District 33
  • Farrah Chaichi has been elected to House District 35
  • Dr. Thuy Tran has been elected to House District 45
  • West Linn Mayor Jules Walters has been elected to House District 37

STATE SENATE

  • Senator Janeen Sollman has held her seat in Oregon Senate District 15
  • Senator Deb Patterson has held her seat in Oregon Senate District 10
  • Wlnsvey Campos has been elected to Oregon Senate District 18

CITY COUNCIL

  • Ashland: Tonya Graham has been re-elected
  • Newport: CM Hall has been re-elected
  • Florence: Jo Beaudreau has been elected
  • Independence: Shannon Corr has been re-elected
  • Hillsboro: Beach Pace has been re-elected
  • Hillsboro: Olivia Alcaire has been re-elected
  • Beaverton: Ashley Hartmeier Prigg has been re-elected
  • Albany: Steph Newton leads 1,364 to 1,002
  • Monmouth: Roxanne Beltz has been re-elected

SPECIAL DISTRICT

  • Terri Preeg Riggsby has won re-election to the West Multnomah Soil and Water Conservation District
